The foundation is preparing to host its first annual fundraiser in 2019.

The event, called Art for Animals, is set for 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. April 6. Hors d oeuvres and desserts will be served. There will also be a cash bar.

Strawberry Ridge Golf Course in Lancaster Township, north of Pittsburgh, Pa., has donated the use of its event room. Between 8 to 10 local artists are being invited to display and sell their work.

Local artist Kaci Flora, of Slippery Rock, Pa., is donating her time to coordinate the art show.  Artists in the western Pennsylvania and northeast Ohio area who would like to participate can email her at klflorart@gmail.com.

The foundation is also planning to have art, baskets and other items for auction.

If you don’t live in the Pittsburgh area, you can still participate in the auction. The foundation is planning to feature it on Facebook in real time.

“We are thrilled to make ‘Art for Animals’ a reality,” said Jeanne Starmack, chairwoman of the foundation’s board of directors. Local art is a passion of hers, as is helping animals, she said.

“We appreciate the sponsorship of Strawberry Ridge, and of course, Kaci’s help. We will be seeking other sponsors in the coming months,” she said.
